My apologies for the dumb question. My daughter and I want to surprise my dad with a weather station as a retirement gift. He has been a meteorologist for over 30 years with the military. We bought the Grove Weather Pi bundle with solar add-on kit and are having a difficult time following the directions to know what connects where and on what board. Is there by chance a better visual or step-by-step instruction to follow for the hardware pieces we can follow?
Many thanks, Louie

Louie,
What tutorial are you trying to follow? The Wire List is the best way of knowing what to connect to what. Pictures aren't very useful with this many connections.

Having done this a little over a year ago, I found that for each board, you can look at or download the technical specification for each board (product). In this documentation, there will be a picture graphic that shows the names and the locations of the wiring connection points. I would start there and by reading the instructions and looking at the picture graphic it should start to make sense.

Thank you BP and Charliee for your responses. @bp; My little girl and I were just curious if there was a "dummy proof" set of instructions that held your hand and showed you "now take this board (a) and plug wire (b) into the port shown". Very much like the little Lego build books that come with each kit. charliee; Thank you for the great tip. For whatever reason I didn't even think to try that but will tonight after work. Greatly appreciated everyone, thank you. Hope you have a great week and a happy/safe 4th of July. Louie

Hello again, I am beyond frustrated with this mess. I have been trying to do this "easy intro to electronics" project off and on for months now. If there were some way to get my money back for this nightmare I would. There are literally no instructions that actually show you how to put this thing together and make it work unless you have a PhD in engineering. Between the "tutorial" on your site, gitHub, and Instructables, there are about 5 different dates for when things were last updated. The parts listed aren't even the parts that come with the bundle. Your "instructions" from the downloadable PDF file literally say "connect random mix of numbers and letters to 'Any Slot'". Would it really be that difficult to give some images and guidance on actually putting this together? You send 15 boards (half of the names/#s on the packaging aren't even listed on your "instructions"), a few dozen wires, multiple different sources for "instructions" that conflict with each other and call and claim your project is introductory??? The most helpful part of any of this has been zooming in on your one image of it in breadboard state.
I know I am probably making things harder than they should be, or at least I hope that's the case. I have been a computer programmer for the past 8 years and consider myself pretty capable around tech. I've built other projects from your competitors using Raspberry Pi and Arduino with no issue so this is probably the reason for such frustration here with such lack of clear, concise instruction.
Please, do you have any ACTUAL instructions on the web for your GroveWeatherPi with Solar add-on weather station? I would love to know what I should be connecting to what, why, a nice visual for reassurance, and actually enjoy this project and learn something from it.
Thanks, Louie

Hey coder1105, I just recently put my GroveWeatherPi with SolarPlus Bundle together. So I understand kind of what your fighting through right now. I'm also more of a visual learner as well, so the lack of good pictures definitely slowed things down initially. I actually thought I would write up a how-to of how I wired mine with some pictures, but when I went to attach the pictures its asking for a http:// url. My pictures are stored locally on my desktop. So I'm not sure how to upload some good pictures for you. The advice that charliee gave up above is good advice. I did kind of as he said, I layed out all the boards on a couple sheets of white paper, wrote down above each board the name of that board, then followed the tutorial linked here (http://www.switchdoc.com/2016/08/tutorial-part-6-building-a-solar-powered-raspberry-pi-weather-station-groveweatherpi/). I printed off the pages of the wiring list labeled (Wiring List for Raspberry Pi GroveWeatherPi System) and after every connection was made I would cross it off the list. I would be happy to help further with pictures if you can figure out how I can get them from my PC to this forum.

The trick with the pictures is totally non obvious.
You attach the pictures, then the magical insert button appears on that popup!

Thank you guys for the offer to help. Having something to reference as an image would be amazing. If you wouldn't mind sharing, I would be forever in your debt. Let me know if I can do anything to make sharing easier either via the thread or setting up like a shared Google Drive folder or something.
Again, thanks a million times over from both me and my daughter.
